How to Post on Social Media to Convert to Sales
Are you posting about the benefits of your products and
services consistently and yet no one is buying anything and no one is even contacting you? Nothing, nada, zilch! Well, don’t get discouraged let me help you!
First, it is important to realize that people don’t want to be sold
anything on social media! It is called “social”
media, people go on social media to catch up with friends and family, see what celebrities
are doing, and to be entertained.
Second, if you know they want to be entertained,
the best thing to do is share your stories!
That’s why Facebook and Instagram have areas where you can actively
share your daily story! And guess
what? The more you share your stories,
the more likely the algorithm will start placing your stories in front of your
intended audience. Right now, only 15-25 followers see your Facebook posts if they are not engaging and if you’re not paying for sponsored ads, so you
want to start posting stories and going LIVE more frequently to get more views
and exposure.
Now that you know the importance of stories, don’t be salesy
and spammy with your stories! Meaning,
don’t bombard people with your product and services. Instead share interesting aspects of your day
that people can relate to such as being a business owner, a friend, and a parent. Let people get to know you.
Instead of posting quotes all day and facts and figures
about your business, stories start conversations and they get people
engaged! When they are engaged, they
will want to know more about you and BOOM—they will start buying from you!
Because no one cares that your product has a miracle
ingredient! No one!
But if you share how that miracle ingredient makes you look
like you’re in your twenties when you’re in your forties, people will listen!
No one cares that your product can make you lose weight. No one!
But if you can share how you personally lost 20lbs in 60 days,
people will listen!
The goal of the stories is to create curiosity about you! The curiosity will increase your engagement
on social media and it will get you in front of your intended target audience
who want exactly what you have to offer.
Also, Facebook and Instagram are changing! When you post your website URL, the algorithm
will think it’s promotional or spammy and it will limit your reach. Facebook will only push content that is engaging,
and they will drop everything else! That’s
why you may only get a few likes because only a few people actually see your
posts.
So, what should you do when you really want people to go to
your website? Create a call to action!
Encourage people to reach out to you directly via messenger to get more information
about what you are sharing.
And at the very least when you are making a post on social
media, focus on serving others. Always
lead with value and what you can do to help others. As the saying goes, people don’t care what
you know until they know how much you care.
