WHY YOU NEED A FACEBOOK FAN PAGE!

Because your family and friends DO NOT care about your business!  Okay, let’s not say they don’t care but your friends don’t want to be SOLD to!  If they want what you offer, they will ask you.  You DO NOT and SHOULD NOT chase them!

But anyhow, I swear I cannot keep up with Facebook or any social media but if you’re not keeping up, you’re getting left behind!

Okay, here’s something most people don’t know…

It’s against Facebook’s terms and conditions to operate a business from a personal profile.  So, if you don’t already have a Facebook Business Profile, jump off this blog and create a business profile first!

Your personal profile should not be spammy and it should not look like a mail order catalog to sell your products and services!

Your personal profile is designed for you to keep up with friends and family that’s exactly what Facebook wants you to use it for. 

Could you imagine if everyone posted their business all day and every day?  It would feel like a SPAM FEST and no one would be on Facebook!  If your current profile looks like this, you do not need to wonder why you only get 1-5 LIKES!  People don’t LIKE Spam!

If you strive to grow your professional presence on Facebook, you DO NOT want to build your business with just your family and friends anyway!   Do you think the giant AMAZON was built by telling friends to tell friends to tell more friends and passing out 10 business cards a day???  NOPE!  It was built on value and expedient customer service and delivery!

Your business must be built on value!  The value must target a certain group of people who are looking for what you offer!  You must be able to solve the problems that keep them up at night!  Saving time and making more money is what worries most people!  Solve this and you will get customers quickly and consistently!

So, please commit to let your personal profile be about personal interests!  Let your fan page ignite an interest in your business!

WHY A FAN PAGE, HELENA?

Oh yeah, let me get to the point…

A business profile page is strictly for business, but a fan page gives customers a glimpse of who you are as a person!  It has been proven that people buy from people that they like! 

It also allows you to boost your posts as sponsored posts to gather data for your targeted demographics and heightens your algorithms so you can create a Facebook Group Page (I’ll blog about that later) that consists of fans from around the world!  

Your fan page is designed for people that are attracted to you!  When you get a moment, look up ATTRACTION MARKETING on YouTube!  That’s the goal of the fan page!  Not just to get new customers, not just to post random things about your business but to ATTRACT people to YOU!  YES, YOU!  AMAZING YOU!

And for my “D” Alpha personality styles!  Let me get straight to the point…if you haven’t generated $500 a month in your business from social media posts, then you need to create a FAN PAGE!  Point blank, period!  Your fans will buy from you without you even selling to them!

Also, your personal profile is limited to 5,000 followers but your FAN PAGE can have unlimited FANS! The bigger the number of fans, the bigger your pool of income!  Do you get it!

So, here’s what your plan of action should be until you hit the income goal above.

Reach out to all your friends on your personal profile and see if they’re open to learning more about your business.  I know you don’t want to drag a bunch of friends that don’t support you to a fan page but only 15% will even be interested and that’s what you want!  

Don't beg people to be a FAN!  Simply invite them if they are interested in your business!  I repeat, ONLY people that are interested in YOU!  The YOU that’s in business!  There is a STRONG REASON behind this!

Did you know that you can print out your friend’s list on your personal profile?

It will help you keep track of who you’ve reached out to and invited to look at your business, products, or services.

Once you’ve reached out to all your friends on your personal profile, you’ll want to move on to the next phase!   As a disclaimer, I am in the startup phases of creating a fan page, but I wanted to share this info along the way with you!

So, here’s my plan…

To start a 2-part video series where I will go LIVE from my personal profile but let everyone know that I will continue and do part2 from my fan page!

This will get people from my personal profile page interested in my fan page.

So you're probably wondering--if I know my friends and family don’t buy from me, why in the world would I want them on my Fan Page?  Trust me, there is a method to this madness!

Every time you share a LIVE story and upload a video, Facebook will collect all the data from those people who are watching your videos and engaging and liking your content and it will create what is called a custom audience (your business profile does this, too).  

A custom audience is a group of people that you can use later to run Facebook Ads to and re-market to!

But this isn’t just any group of people, these are people who are HIGHLY likely to want to hear about what you have to offer!

These are HOT customers, HOT prospects, HOT referrals!

And to take this a step further, you can go on to create what’s called a lookalike audience from the custom audience!  THIS IS THE MAGIC OF YOUR PROFILE FRIENDS THAT LOVE YOUR BUSINESS!   

When a few of your genuinely interested friends become your FANS, Facebook will find millions of people that are on Facebook that look exactly like those people that already raised their hand and liked your post or FACEBOOK LIVE and engaged with you on Facebook!

The only downside of a Fan page is you must be patient!  FANS are NOT built overnight.  You must condition them to what you will offer them!  They need to know what to expect from you –when, where, and how often!  

If your goal is to create a long-term business that offers you leverage and automation, you’ll want to start transitioning to a FAN PAGE to run your business and let your friends that have shown NO interest in your business enjoy the personal side of you.  As Facebook originally intended.

Okay, so what should you post on your FAN PAGE?

LIVE videos with valuable content!

Tips and news related to your industry!

Funny stories about what happened to you!

Flyers and promotions, you want others to share!

New products or services!

Feature a FAN every Friday!  “FAN FRIDAYS”

Create a networking opportunity for your FANS to share their business on SUNDAYS!  Make it a reciprocal relationship of promoting each other!

The opportunities are endless!

*Only pay for sponsored ads that will yield a profit or increase your fans such as when you’re promoting a class or going LIVE!  Before posting it, ask yourself “WOULD I CLICK THIS?  IS THIS VALUABLE?  WHO WILL THIS BENEFIT?"

A $5 sponsored Facebook ad will position you in front of 500-1,000 per day.  This is 10x worth the time you save from hunting down strangers to give out your business cards!  If you value time, you know it's more valuable to spend $5 daily to reach 500 than spend 5 hours to reach 10!  Simple math!  Let's work smarter not harder!
